TROY DONOCKLEY
(Celtic/rock/classical fusion: Uillean pipes, low whistles, electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards, cittern, mandolin, percussion, pipe organ, fiddle, oboe, grand piano, bass, harp, voices, and featuring The Emperor String Quartet)

Cat. No. PK1
Troy Donockley has established himself at the forefront of the new generation of traditional musicians in Britain. His speciality is the Uillean pipes, the sound of which evokes a completely raw celtic spiritual quality in his recordings. He also plays tin whistles, low whistles, keyboards and cittern.

He has been involved with the band Iona since 1990. Iona's most recent studio album was voted in the Top 50 albums of 1996 in Q magazine.

He has also worked with The Enid, Alan Stivell (Breton Harp), Del Amitri, Barbara Dickson, Paul Brennan (Clannad), Katrina and the Waves, Status Quo, Flesh and Blood, Midge Ure and with Maddy Prior (Steeleye Span) as producer and arranger.

Now his reputation as a composer is surpassing even his reputation as a musician. This is a superb fusion album.
